IT WAS DEEMED INADEQUATE, DUE TO THE AMERICAN DRIVER'S HEAVY RIGHT FOOT, AND NEEDING TO BE FIRST AWAY FROM THE TRAFFIC LIGHT. The HIGHER the gas prices can get, the more likely people will look for alternative fuel sources. Europeans have accepted diesels into their lives, but the US government and regulations on smog have kept Diesels out of American's lives.
