Global Warming & The Future of Coal - Making Clean Energy
Ever-rising industrial and consumer demand for more power in tandem with cheap and abundant coal reserves across the globe are expected to result in the construction of new coal-fired power plants producing 1,400 gigawatts of electricity by 2030, according to the International Energy Agency. In the absence of emission controls, these new plants will increase worldwide annual emissions of carbon dioxide by approximately 7.6 billion metric tons by 2030. These emissions would equal roughly 50 percent of all fossil fuel emissions over the past 250 years.

Global warming is …
Global warming is not a serious threat. We don’t all know that and we don’t all agree with it. At the moment the globe is in a cooling phase. Even the government data collectors agree. and CO2 doesn’t cause global warming it’s just plant food and we could use more of it in the atmosphere since it is 0% of the atmosphere 0.04 of 1%. Learn the facts.
Developing …
Developing countries have no choice but to build coal fired power plant
there are exactly 2 …
there are exactly 2 clean coal plants in America. They cost a huge amount to build. They scrub out the crap in the smokestack, including the carbon. The 150 new coal plant leases being doled out now are NOT for any new-technology “clean” plants, only the old fashioned kind. Also it is always bad for the environment to mine coal, especially from the top down instead of in tunnels.
I think many people …
I think many people miss a main point when it comes to energy and global warming.
They want to get into a fight over things we think we know and over what may happen in the future.
We know we are polluting ourselves and our current way on our planet is not sustainable.
I’m expecting lots of positive changes within the next few years, as millions are getting it and lots of powerfull people are included in that figure.
i care about it we …
i care about it we need to stop global warming
Our world would be …
Our world would be a much different place if more people understood “The True cost of something”
Coal, Nuclear, Oil, Natural Gas all cost more then most people think.
They all have killed or injured lots of people and we can’t put a true cost on that. Some people say that we have even fought some wars over natural resources.
There are many solutioins and we must Shift jobs and capital to cleaner forms of energy, while using less at the same time.
The Community …
The Community Commons concept for energy research. Great idea. How about the Pheizer building in Ann Arbor MI USA
