S2000 has Check engine light and Autozone did a diagnostic which said P1456 (emission control systems leak)?

I went to Autozone and they ran the ECU diagnostic test and it was code p1456 which means emission control systems leak (fuel tank The check engine light came on.
The S2000 when parked in the garage smells of gasoline
it say its either:
loose fuel cap (I tightened the fuel cap)
vapor canister saturated
failed vent solenoid
failed purge solenoid
Is this bad for the car. or is it just bad for the environement because of the emissions?
A lot of the emissions control system is just that. It doesn’t affect the car’s performance or such. However, there should be extended warranties on emission systems. Double check with your nearest Honda dealership to get correct details but they should be able to check and fix it free of charge. That’s if the light gets annoying.
If you want to check it yourself. I’d start with the vacuum lines ot make sure there’s no crack in them and then see if the fuel cap is loose. If that goes no where, I’d check the purge and vent solenoid since they can get plugged. Sometimes you may have to replace the EVAP canister.
