    So the polution comes from those utility companies. There isn’t “no pullution at all”. It just gets shifted. You typed a lot just to prove yourself wrong.

    Maybe U try 2 suggest our electricity comes from the same oil conventional cars use– but there is no electricity generated anywhere in the country that uses oil, domestic or foreign. Grid electricity is far more efficient than even the very best cars today, & when we stop using gasoline we’ll see a dramatic decrease in asthma, cancer, etc.

Duh… the same utility companies you get any other electricity from… maybe you think there is some lack of electric power– google V2G, you’ll see that as more and more EVs are built & driven, they will actually REDUCE or even ELIMINATE blackouts and brownouts, leveling energy usage even on the hottest summer days. Also, google Nanosolar, who have breakthru tech for cheap, plentiful, efficient solar cells that will be powering 100,000 homes per year, decentralizing… (cont’d)

    No Honda is trying …
    No Honda is trying to copy VVEL from Nissan. VTEC only changes from one set of valve lobes to a more aggressive lobe by use of a soleniod. Nissans new system uses the same lobe on the cam but can adjust the amount of lift by changing the lifter height. Do more reading on the subject. Its quite a leap ahead of the VTEC system.

    there was no sound with this thing. Did you guys hear anything? Anyway, it doesn’t matter anyway, cuz any electric vehicle such as a Phoenix, eBox, Tesla, Zap, Electrum, etc, will give you the equivalent of 150 mpg or so… like a penny per mile… and no pollution at all.

    One would ume that it would re adjust to the lane you move into, especially if you ACTUALLY used the turn signal.

    The system had one big disadvantage over VTEC. It can not vary the DURATION of the lift. Only the amount of lift. So VTEC is still better for peak power. Still, this is an amazing new system from Nissan.

    Not even close. While most engines control how much air enters the cylinder with a throttle plate, this systems regulates airflow by continuously altering the valve LIFT. Yes, continuously. Not 2-step like VTEC. With no throttle plate in place to do this, it does away with part-throttle vacuum and significantly reduces pumping losses. This improves part throttle response and fuel efficiency. The only other automaker than currently has a similar system is BMW with their Valvetronic.

    Er… the engine part… all that is telling me is that for half the time the engine is running with half the usual fuel-air mix other half of the time running with full fuel-air mix? o.O and the lane thing… what happens with u change lane??o.o…
