my service engine soon light is on so I cannot pass the Georgia emission test on my 2001 chevy S 10. Ant thou?

Go to your local auto parts and borrow their scan tool. It will direct you to your problem.

  3. Try disconnecting the battery for 5 — 10 minutes. Then hook it back up and see if that resets the light.

  4. Resetting the light won’t get you to pass the test. The inspectors will be able to see that you’ve done that and that the computer monitors have not completed the new round of testing. They’ll just send you packing.

  5. take it to an auto parts dealer and let them scan the code for you. maybe its just an O2 sensor. or you might buy a diagnostic too. they aren’t expensive. you can read codes and reset engine light and erase codes with it.
