Anyone know about the Emission Control System on Rover 400?

I have a Rover 400. Engine check light has just come on. Manual states it is Engine Emission Control System. Anyone know what this is and cost of replacement / repair

This could possibly be the lambda sensor in your exhaust !
cost about £80 to replace !

    get rid of car it’s a |Rover and they don’t build them well apart from the 75
