What will happen if I miss my emission test due date?

I have a car that has been left in the garage for a while and the due date for the emission test is already passed, like a week ago. I’ll get it tested this weekend. What will happen? I mean like do I have to pay late fees? Or is there anything else?

  1. If your auto registration date has passed, you will generally have to pay late penalties for that. If the car was inoperable and you didn’t get it registered due to that, you may be able to get a waiver of the late fee. Check with your registrar’s office.
