How much does it cost for an emission test in Houston, TX?
I am planning to move to Houston and I want to start an Emission Testing business there because I heard it costs a lot for an emission test there. How much is the average cost for it?
Depends. A car that is over 2 years must also get pass the emissions test. I pay around $40 each year for this (includes a free exterior car wash).
I also have a brand new car, it did not need to test for a year.
I have a feeling that if you bring a car less than 2 years old to the state, you only pay for the safety part of the test (but not for emissions). That would bring down the cost to about $15.
