Just today, in his radio address, Obama wrapped himself in science, the way a nationalist would wrap themselves in the flag, to expropriate sciences credibility to shield his political climate change mitigation agenda.

Climate change is not only an ault upon the physical results of modernity, but also upon modernitys intellectual foundation.

In addition, the eventual debunking of the climate change fad endangers the popular credibility of science, its method, and its results as evidence.

What happens when Sophist politicians shout down dissenting scientists, with a result that political force short-circuits the scientific method?  When reality comes a calling, and the extent of this lie becomes manifest, will the politicians be blamed?  Will the public blame their own ignorance?  No, it is science that will be unjustly blamed.

  7. Excellent essay!
    Excellent essay!

So far, this is my favorite video of yours. You make a very important point that more people should heed. Will you be making more such video op-eds? :-)
I’m glad that you pointed out that laws are ultimately enforced at gunpoint. Whenever people clamor for more regulations on what their neighbors may consume, they ought to think about whether the matter is important enough to threaten violence over, because threatening violence is exactly what they do when they pass a law.
