Global warming since 1880, cooling since 1998, CO2 emissions going up, how does CO2 and GW n cooling correlate?
If CO2 emissions keep going up and we’re causing global warming, shouldn’t temperatures from 1998 on keep rising?
The climate of Earth is based on a 40,000 year cycle that the Sun undergoes. NOTHING MORE!

No, because the system is far more complex and chaotic than you think. Computer projections show a period of cooling, followed by a resumption of warming. But it depends on where on the earth you are.

There’s no such thing as man made global warming. It’s just a hoax for more control from the government.

not necessarily, ask your science teacher about it.
stay in school, study hard, and don’t do drugs.

You would have been better served not posting this question the day a study was released that shows the claims of global cooling since 1998 are totally false.

The temp isnt cooling its actually leveled off. Where were you today when this article came out lmao
Heres a link that was on Yahoo news earlier TODAY:

Can you tell me….What temperature should the earth be? This way we know whether or not its too hot or too cold.

The amount of cooling since 1998 is so small compared to that warming, it is statistically insignificant.
The earth is not warming linearly. The "global cooling since 1998" assumes it is, which is nothing more than ignorance of the situation. See the little minute "blip" at the end? That’s the cooling you are referring to

So the facts you have presented have no bearing on whether or not humans are responsible for global warming.

This is basically how it goes:
CO2 emissions rise and the Earth warms: it’s our fault and the environmentalists make money off of it.
CO2 emissions rise and Earth cools: it’s our fault and the environmentalists make money off of it.
It’s a remarkable business plan, really.

Maybe they are both true so global warming and global cooling will just counter act each other haha

Not necessarily. Climate is a complex phenomena and has both positive (reinforcing) and negative feedback loops with other systems such as the lithospheric and oceanic systems.
In fact, as earth’s ice caps melt, heat is released. Heat, remember from basic physics, is anything above absolute zero. Thus, heat released from ice caps may feel "cold", but this is but a temporary transition.
Now, the atmospheric increases of human-released CO2 is readily apparent in the associated monotonic rise of ocean CO2 and the pH decreases observed as atmospheric CO2 comes into equilibrium with Oceanic CO2 concentrations. This leads to the formation of HCO3, or carbonic acid.

First off your data is off and I would like to point out that oil companies have put out a lot of lies and misinformation sort of like the tobacco companies used to try to prove that smoking was harmless.
But you brought up an ineresting issue that will occur with global warming, and that is rampant severe global warming eventually casuses rampant and severe global cooling. For example, when a huge ice shelf melts 50 years earlier than expected or year round mountain top ice basically is nearly a thing of the past, those of course are signs of warming. But the huge amount of cold water that flushes into oceans and other impacts of the change makes some areas colder. In theory if we don’t stop global warming the greatest risk is not that we will get to hot, it’s that seas will rise and we might get an ice age about 300,000 years too soon.
Our current economy on a global scale and our world population primarily rests along the coasts lines and are very sensative to the impact of global warming that is hastened by man made efforts. I mean look at Katrina despite all our best efforts.

Indeed they should. And, if fact, they have. The claim that they aren’t rising since 1998 is a fake. The truth is, that 1998 was an extreme hot year, and years since then have not been at that level. It’s called statistical noise. You expect to find it in any large body of data.
A recent test confirmed this. Expert statisticians were shown global climate data without being told what the data represented. Not one concluded that a cooling trend existed.
From year to year, it doesn’t always go up. But average temperatures are higher since 2000 than they were in the 90s. In fact, every single year since 2000 has been warmer than any year recorded prior to 1998. They were higher in the 90s than in the 80s. Higher in the 80s than in the 70s. The warming trend has been consistent for a century and accelerating more recently.

You don’t do science by using one data point. There’s a lot more to it than that. For instance. Melting land and sea ice flows into the oceans. This exposes more land and open water to insolation heating. Warm water expands, not only raising sea heights, but also changing ocean currents. The Gulf Stream moves warm water from the tropics up to more northern latitudes and then turns east. That’s why southern Europe is warmer than the same latitude in North America. That means that ‘warming’, can also cause ‘cooling’ in some parts of the world. It also means a wetter eastern US…more rain and snow. Then there’s general weather patterns. A more northerly jet stream in North America means less rain in the US southwest…already in drought conditions. Disrupted weather patterns…patterns that gave rise to human civilization 10,000 years ago, areas now densely settled with established agriculture and urban areas will experience lower food production, and greater desertfication. Turkey and Iraq, the ‘Fertile Crescent is already drying out. The treeline is moving up and north. Tropical insects and disease are found further north as well. Thinner sea ice…longer summers and shorter winters in the artic regions. The list of data points is almost endless. Staying fixated on CO2 is foolish, it can fluctuate up and down, though the trend line since 1850 is up. The point here is ‘warming’ isn’t the problem, the problem is the effect of warming on large, complex and interrelated climate systems, and there’s no doubt anymore that it’s happening and man-made pollution correlates exactly with this situation. This isn’t a ‘belief’…this is science.
