Should there be an emission test weekly for cars? On the side of the highway?

Thanks
And if someone fails, jail term or fine?
Keep the children safe?
Weekly? No… traffic is bad enough in most urban areas…. Take the money for that and further develop public transportation!
Yearly would be more reasonable. If the vehicle fails, force the owner to make the necessary repairs or pull the car off the [...]

how many states have emission laws on cars?

I believe all do, to some certain extent. Every car and truck are suppose to have a catalytic convertet for instance, because its the law. California is a state I know that has to have vehicle checks a couple of times a year, or every 6 months. Not exactly sure what the [...]

How do hydrogen cars give off less greenhouse emissions?

How do hydrogen based cars give off less greenhouse emissions? Technically, isn’t water vapor considered to be a large contributor to the greenhouse effect, even more than say CO2? Not to mention, won’t the energy from a hydrogen car have to come from a most likely oil based or coal based source, thus losing efficiency [...]

Should we lower our emission standards for cars in the U.S.?

Overseas, primarily in Europe, there are 113 vehicles for sale that get a combined 40 mpg, up from 86 in 2005. Combined gas mileage is the average of a vehicle’s city and highway mpg numbers.
They are unavailable to American consumers even though made by U.S.-based automobile manufacturers or by foreign manufacturers with substantial U.S. sales [...]

why is hydrogen on demand systems to reduce gas consumption and emissions in cars not being talked more about?

the process uses electrolysis to produce hydrogen safely,it then goes into the injectors through the air intake manifold adding the power of 180 octanes to the combustion. The cars computer registers this sends message to reduce mix, thus reducing the gas used.
because it doesn’t work. it’s a scam.
it takes more energy to make the hydrogen [...]

Do cars pollute more (both noxious emissions and accousticaly) going uphill or downhill?

Do cars produce more noxious emissions going uphill? also, are cars noisier going uphill or downhill, either in neutral or in gear.
More pollution going uphill because the car is burning more gas. Going downhill, you can let up on the gas (and use less of it).

part 2 on What is the web site on the government buying older cars for emissions?

i heard from a friend that the state of california is buying old cars and retiring them and give you money for it, just because its an old car and its along the lines of the SMOG deal
Yes, California does that. The website is:
smogcheck.ca.gov
They have three different programs for vehicles that don’t pass smog, one [...]
