Navman GPS Systems

Posted on March 3rd, 2010 by admin

I’ve been driving around for about 6 months with a 2008 model Navman GPS System. It’s a F15, and it rocks. It’s got a 3.5″ Screen, easy-to-read layout, and it does the job.

What it doesn’t have is Spoken Street Names, but for me, i don’t mind. In fact, the voice does annoy me somehwhat.

A friend of mine just got a Navman S150, but it’s crap in comparison to my cheaper, smaller brother. I sometimes wonder if Navman know what they’re doing, as their older models are much easier to use then the new ones.

It just goes to show that the latest model doesn’t always mean it’s better. If you’re looking to buy a GPS, make sure you get a hands-on, real-life experience.

Are Teen Drivers The Most Costly?

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by admin

A recent study released by The Auto Club reportss that auto accidents caused by teenage drivers cost us dearly. It adds up to more than $34 billion a year, nationwide.

Another shocking report according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car crashes are the leading cause of death for American teenagers. Young people ages 15 to 20 make up 6.7 percent of the total driving population in this country but are involved in 14 percent of all fatal crashes.

Many of these accidents could be the simple reason that most teen drivers don’t have the same experience on the road as other drivers yet. It’s been suggested before that teen drivers not be allowed to drive with other teens in the car until they are 18. This would give them the time to get used to driving and cultivating their road sense.
