I think it interferes with interstate commerce. While there can be a duality of regulation, generally federal law trumps. When it comes to importing vehicles and interstate commerce and transportation, I believe that determining emission standards should be a federal question not a state question. People will drive their cars; sell their cars across state lines, etc. Would a consumer who buys a car be able to tell if he or she just paid for a car that he or she could not use in his or her state. Chaos will ensue.

I may be a liberal but I comepletely agree with it.

The states should control the standards. Ths whole idea of an "one size fits all" idealogy is hurting us as a nation.

He’s doing it because California wants to set its own standard (again). It’s a great idea, because California’s not about to go bankrupt or anything.

I think it’s a great idea. California is at the forefront of creating stricter fuel efficiency standards.

It is stupid. It allows there to be too many different standards. All it will do is make cars more expensive. It is a dirty hippie idea, make cars so expensive that people can’t afford them. Make our nation less productive since people won’t be able to travel.
