Yes 1992 cars require an emmisions test. The first thing we do if a car is struggling with emmisions is to blast it up the road and do the test when it is nice and hot. If the emmisions are still too high a service with an engine flush and a fuel addative may help. It may even need a new lambda probe.

Sorry, there’s no way out of an MOT test failure. Your options are limited but probably start with a tune-up plus replacement of any parts that cannot be tweaked. If you need a new catalytic converter, the cost may be hard to justify on a car of that age though Hondas are good cars so, unless it is mechanically clapped-out it might be worth it. Good luck.

All cars require an emissions test as part of the MOT. If the emissions are failing, it could indicate you need a new exhaust system and the vehicle servicing again. The engine probably also needs retuning.

i think 91 was when the cats were fitted so emmisions were started then [i think]…if its been sitting then it would need a gud run to clean it out…best case it wants a new air filter,worst case the cylnder bores are worn [new engine]..
